Remembers (places):
The Herb Shop. The Plaza, Saturday mornings. The trams - I remember a tram laying on its side at the top of Handsworth hill outside St Mary's church. The fair that came every year at the back of the Working Men's Club on the Hill, The horse trough that is still there and the Police Box which as gone. Foster's Fruit Shop, Slaters the Chemist Boots. The best place was the Oak House Fish Shop - we used to take old newspapers in exchange for a bag of scaps. Playing on the Rec and hearing the strong force of the gate at the bottom end of the Rec as it closed due to the miners coming and going to the mine.
